箱根仙石原の豊かな自然に抱かれたリトリート施設「箱根仙石原マナーズ」の改装プロジェクト。日々の喧騒を忘れ、心と体をゆったりと癒すことができる空間を目指し「ウィークエンドリトリート」をテーマにデザインしました。

もともとこの地の開発コンセプトは、箱根の別荘地ならではの折衷洋式「マナースタイル」に基づくものでした。独特な幾何学形状をした天井を整えるプロセスの中で、和の「格子」の要素を取り入れ、素材のパレットを絞り、さらに既存暖炉との共存も考慮しながら落ち着いた佇まいのある空間を創り上げました。

中心に据えたキッチンを囲むように設けたダイニングスペースは、ダイニングテーブルとアイランドキッチンを連続させることで区切りを感じさせない一体感のある空間を生み出しました。アイランドキッチンの上部に位置するフードは、訪れる人々を温かく迎え入れる象徴として、ささやかな高揚感を与えてくれます。

木々の木漏れ日が差し込む中で、ゆったりと流れる時間を感じながら過ごすひととき。日常を忘れ、心身ともにリフレッシュし、疲れをそっと解き放つ――そんな思いを巡らせた「箱根仙石原マナーズ」は、訪れるすべての人々に安らぎをもたらすことでしょう。

The renovation project of the retreat facility 'Hakone Sengokuhara Manners,' surrounded by lush nature in Hakone Sengokuhara. We designed the space with the theme of a "Weekend Retreat," aiming to create an environment where guests can forget the daily hustle and bustle and gently rejuvenate both body and mind.

The original development concept was based on the eclectic Western style, or "Manner Style," unique to Hakone's villa area. In the process of refining the uniquely geometric ceiling, we incorporated elements of traditional Japanese "Koshi" latticework into the space, minimized the selection of materials, and carefully considered the coexistence with the existing fireplace, creating a space with a calm and serene atmosphere.

The dining space, centered around the kitchen, was designed to create a sense of unity without boundaries by seamlessly connecting the dining table with the island kitchen. The hood above the island kitchen serves as a welcoming symbol, offering a subtle sense of uplift to those who enter.

As sunlight filters through the trees, guests can spend leisurely moments, forgetting the everyday and refreshing both body and mind. With such thoughts in mind, "Hakone Sengokuhara Manners" was crafted to bring tranquility to all who visit.
